Flour and Bread Tour

Flour and bread Tourguided in Penacova, visiting, in the morning, the Museum of the Mill and the Mill of Vitorino Nemesio. Regional lunch by the river Mondego. In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to learn or revive the traditional manufacturing of bread from the central region of Portugal, in the village of Lorvão, where there is a community oven with 600 years of history, made by the nuns of the Monastery of Lorvão.
Oficina de broaOficina de broaWhile bread is in the oven, we’ll visit the mills that still operate in Gavinhos Mountain (windmills) or in the Lorvão river (water mills).

No final cada participante leva uma broa para casa e realiza-se um lanche à porta do forno. Oportunidade ainda de conhecer o fabrico artesanal de palitos e o Mosteiro do Lorvão.

At the end, each participant takes, as a souveni of their participation in this activity, a bread and there will be a snack in the oven door. There is, also, the opportunity to see how local women do handmade toothpicks and visit the Monastery of Lorvão. Price per person: € 27.5 (there are discounts for groups) Includes: lunch (entrees, soup,: Chanfana, drinks, dessert, coffee), guides and all animation program, 1 artisan bread per person, entrances to museums and monuments in the program. Includes snack. Only be possible with a minimum of 20 participants. Duration: 10h30am -5h30 pm. Meeting point: 10.30 am – Espinheira / IP3 (exit Luso / Penacova) – next to the gas pumps.
